From a
client who I met with a total of 2 times.
It is not generally my recommendation to expect results that won’t
benefit from some on-going coaching in only 2 sessions. However, for this client, an adult only home
and their single pet dog, those two sessions equipped them to make good
decisions to enjoy and live harmoniously with their dog.
From a
client family: 2 adults, 2 elementary school-aged children. This family had just adopted an adolescent
hound/collieX from the RH SPCA. I met with this family every 2 weeks for 5
months to help them be successful making this young dog a cherished member of
their family.
From a
pet dog owner – regarding Bailey, an adolescent/adult dog adoptee from the RH
SPCA. I counseled his family from the
moment they met him at the RH SPCA pre-adoption through basic household manners
training as he transitioned into the couple’s home and family life and then
later when his family wanted to prepare him to take the test for Therapy Dog
Certification.
Request
for my services from a dog owner who wanted to be more successful in dog sports
and other formal canine activities with her dogs. This is not a client’s testimonial resulting
after a consult session, but rather the reason one of my clients, who was
engaged in the local dog-community, sought me out for training and behavior
modification advice:
First note
from the client after we met for a couple sessions, the client cancelled future
sessions and failed to reschedule. When
I followed up with them, concerned about why they chose to discontinue my
services at a time when we were just beginning to make progress, they sent this
note in response.
A simple Thank You from
this same client a year later:
From a
client I first started to work with in Sep 2017. This dog had a bite history with both an
owner and visitors to their home. They
previously worked with a compulsion-trainer who fitted their dog with a choke
chain collar. His behavior got worse. We started out scheduling sessions every 2
and 3 weeks, then met once a month with a longer mid-winter break for a total
of 8 sessions until they moved out of area to relocate for work. During the time I worked with them, their
dog’s behavior improved, he became less reactive and no new biting incidents
occurred. Current year not noted in the
email – this a 2018 message.
